(Bloomberg) -- Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average fell 146.45, or 0.8 percent, to 17,590.51 at 9:02 a.m. in Tokyo. The broader Topix index dropped 13.47, or 0.8 percent, to 1723.52.
Canon Inc. and Toyota Motor Corp. led the declines.
