Canadian Stocks Rebound From Biggest Weekly Loss in 6 Years; EnCana Gains

(Bloomberg) -- Canadian stocks rose after investors
speculated that the steepest weekly sell-off in almost six years
was overdone.

EnCana Corp. paced gains in energy and raw-material stocks,
which had among the biggest declines last week, on higher prices
for natural gas.

Canadian Stocks Rise on TakeoverSpeculation; Canadian Pacific Is Halted

(Bloomberg) -- Canadian stocks rose for a second day,
after a report that the nation's second-largest railroad, Canadian
Pacific Railway Ltd., may receive a takeover bid.

The S&P/TSX Composite Index gained 43.44, or 0.3 percent, to
14,425.45, led by Canadian National Railway, the country's largest
rail company.

Canadian Stocks May Gain on Research In Motion's Profit; BCE May Advance

(Bloomberg) -- Canadian stocks may rise after Research
In Motion Ltd. announced a stock split and first-quarter profit
exceeded analyst estimates.

Research In Motion, the maker of BlackBerry e-mail phones,
surged 17 percent in trading before the open of Canadian exchanges.
BCE Inc., Canada's biggest phone company, gained after the Ontario
Teachers' Pension Plan said it made bids for all BCE shares it
doesn't already own.

Canadian Stocks May Fall as Oil Prices Decline; Canadian Natural May Drop

(Bloomberg) -- Canadian stocks may fall for a second
day, led by energy producers including Canadian Natural Resources
Ltd., after crude oil prices slipped from a nine-month high and
Merrill Lynch & Co. downgraded the natural-gas company's stock.

Losses in the market may be limited as raw-materials producers
gain on speculation there will be more takeovers in the industry,
after a report that Alcan Inc. opened its books to potential
bidders. Copper prices rebounded from a drop yesterday and may also
support resource stocks.

Canadian Stocks May Fall, Led by Bullion Miners, Barrick, After Gold Drops

(Bloomberg) -- Canadian stocks may decline for a second
day, as falling bullion prices drag down shares of miners such as
Barrick Gold Corp.

Speculation that the Bank of Canada may raise borrowing costs
may weigh on the broader stock market.

Canadian Stocks Climb, Led by Bombardier; Energy Companies' Shares Advance

(Bloomberg) -- Canadian stocks rose, as Bombardier Inc.
shares rose on an order for aircraft and energy shares higher oil
and natural gas prices that lifted energy shares.

A measure of Canadian industrial shares rose to a record after
Bombardier, the world's third-largest maker of commercial aircraft,
got an order from Croatia Airlines for four airplanes valued at
$105 million. The shares jumped 44 cents, or 8 percent, to C$5.98.

Canadian Stocks Decline, Led by Royal Bank, as Yields Raise Profit Concern

(Bloomberg) -- Canadian stocks declined, led by
financial shares, after the country's two-year bond yield held near
the highest in five years, exceeding longer-term bond yields and
raising concern that bank profit margins will be squeezed.

``People have a knee-jerk reaction that when you get an
inverted-yield curve, banks are going to suffer,'' said Gavin
Graham, who helps oversee about $5.3 billion as chief investment
officer at Toronto-based Guardian Group of Funds.

Canadian Stocks May Rise on U.S. Jobs, Metals; Magna, Kinross May Advance

(Bloomberg) -- Canadian stocks may advance on signs of
a strengthening U.S. economy after a government report showed U.S.
employers boosted hiring in May. Climbing gold and silver prices
also may lift shares of material producers.

The U.S. Labor Department said companies in the U.S., Canada's
biggest trading partner, added 157,000 jobs, following an 80,000
gain in April. Magna International Inc., Canada's biggest car parts
maker, may gain C$3.29 to C$98.31, based on bids already submitted
to the stock exchange.

Canadian Stocks Rise as Barrick Gains on Gold Price, CAE Jumps on Earnings

(Bloomberg) -- Canadian stocks rose, led by gold
companies including Barrick Gold Corp., as bullion prices climbed.

The declining value of the dollar against the euro boosted
demand for precious metals as alternative investments. Barrick, the
biggest gold producer, rose 22 cents to C$31.01. Goldcorp Inc., the
world's third-biggest gold producer, gained 20 cents to C$24.72.
