Brazil's Bovespa Falls, Led by Petrobras, on Tax Bill; TV Azteca Declines

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index slid the most
in six weeks, led by state-controlled oil company Petroleo
Brasileiro SA, as the company received a bill for $710 million in
unpaid taxes and oil prices dropped.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange fell 800.03, or 1.4 percent, to 57,236.74 as of 1:20 p.m.
New York time. Petrobras accounted for more than a quarter of the
drop. Mexico's benchmark Bolsa index declined 295.91, or 0.9
percent, to 31,872.52.

Bradesco, Equatorial, Gerdau, Tam, Vale do Rio Doce: Brazil Equity Movers

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index was little
changed, with mining company Cia. Vale do Rio Doce rising and
steelmaker Gerdau SA falling.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange rose 26.87, or less than 0.1 percent, to 55,909.57 as of
9:44 a.m. New York time.

BR Malls, Eletropaulo, Petrobras, Telemar: Brazil Equity Market Movers

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index rose for a
sixth day, led by mobile-phone company Tele Norte Leste
Participacoes SA.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange gained 169.22, or 0.3 percent, to a record 55,868.91 as
of 9:57 a.m. New York time.

Brazilian Stocks Surge to Weekly Gain on Faster Rate Cuts; Petrobras Rises

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index rose for a
third day, heading for the biggest weekly gain in three months, on
speculation that faster interest rate cuts by the central bank will
lead to increased company profits and spur investment in stocks.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange rose gained 898.52, or 1.7 percent, to 54,638.61 as of
12:15 p.m. New York time, led by Petroleo Brasileiro SA. The weekly
gain of 4.4 percent was the steepest since March 23. Mexico's Bolsa
index rose 0.8 percent to 32,271.87, eclipsing a June 5 record and
heading for a 2.9 percent weekly gain.

Cremer, Klabin, Marcopolo and Petroleo Brasileiro: Brazilian Equity Movers

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index rose for a
third day, led by state-controlled oil company Petroleo Brasileiro
SA.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange gained 773.77, or 1.4 percent, to 54,486.66 as of 9:48
a.m. New York time.

Latin American Stocks Rise, Led by Banco Itau, on Rate Cut; Bolsa Advances

(Bloomberg) -- Latin American stocks rose for a second
day, led by Banco Itau Holding Financeira SA in Brazil, on
speculation that falling interest rates in that country will boost
loan demand and economic growth.

The Morgan Stanley Capital International index of Latin
American shares rose 77.50, or 2.2 percent, to 3677.54 as of 1:35
p.m. in New York. The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on
the Sao Paulo exchange rose 584.26, or 1.1 percent, to 52,913.94.

Dasa, Petrobras, Sadia, Telemar and Vale do Rio Doce: Brazil Equity Movers

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index gained for the
first time in four days, led by mining company Cia. Vale do Rio
Doce.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange rose 446.64, or 0.9 percent, to 50,977.29 as of 9:40 a.m.
New York time.
