DuPont's CEO sees housing slump well into 2008

(Reuters) - The company on Tuesday cited the housing downturn as one of
the drags on quarterly earnings, which fell short of Wall
Street expectations. The stock fell more than 5 percent to
$50.46 in morning trade on the New York Stock Exchange.

UPDATE 1-AMB Property second-quarter FFO down, shares fall

(Reuters) - Shares of the company fell more than 13 percent to $47.80
in late electronic trade, after closing at $55.33 Tuesday on
the New York Stock Exchange.




The San Francisco-based company reported second-quarter
funds from operations of $78.5 million, or 74 cents a
share, down from $82.4 million, or 87 cents per share, reported
in the year-ago period.

Zimmer gets a lift from takeover talk

(Reuters) - Zimmer shares were up 2.6 percent to $88.21 in afternoon trading on the New York Stock Exchange after trading as high as $89.98 earlier in the session.




The maker of hip and knee implants could be an attractive candidate for a leveraged buyout because of its low debt load and strong cash flow, said an equity analyst who asked not to be named.

Spartech says CEO quits, cuts profit view; shares fall

(Reuters) - "Abd, CEO since May 2005, was the architect and driving force behind the company's recent structural changes and operational improvements," Deutsche Bank analyst David Begleiter said in a research note to clients on Monday.




Shares of the company fell more than 20 percent, or $5.52, to $21.80 in midday trade, making them the highest percentage loser on the New York Stock Exchange on more than four times the 10-day moving average volume, according to Reuters data.

Apple iPhone margins 55 pct, shares rise: ISuppli

(Reuters) - In January, iSuppli, which does not include costs for royalties and logistics, said it had estimated a $264.85 hardware and manufacturing cost for the eight-gigabyte device.




Apple shares rose $4.42 or almost 4 percent to $125.68 on Nasdaq after the news. Shares of AT&T Inc. , the exclusive U.S. service provider for the phone, were down 35 cents at $41.50 on the New York Stock Exchange.

Nasdaq to buy board technology firm, no terms

(Reuters) - Directors Desk is the newest company to join Nasdaq's clutch of companies offering non-trading services, as the exchange fights to keep clients and increase revenue.




Competition among exchanges has turned fierce, and Nasdaq competes for trading volume with alternative trading venues like BATS Trading and for company listings with the New York Stock Exchange, owned by NYSE Euronext .

UPDATE 1-Christopher & Banks Q1 profit falls; shares down

(Reuters) - The company also forecast second quarter and full year
earnings below Wall Street estimates.




Shares of the company fell over 10 percent in late
electronic trade to $16.00 after closing at $17.81 Thursday on
the New York Stock Exchange.

GateHouse sells W. Virginia newspaper for $77 mln

(Reuters) - The West Virginia daily newspaper has a daily circulation of about 28,000 and a Sunday circulation of about 33,000, Champion said. The transaction is expected to close during the fourth quarter, Champion said. The company plans to finance the acquisition with debt.



Champion closed up 7 cents, or 1 percent, to $7.15 on the Nasdaq stock market. GateHouse fell 53 cents, or 2.8 percent, to close at $18.57 on the New York Stock Exchange.

UPDATE 2-Blackstone up 15 percent in NYSE debut

(Reuters) - NEW YORK, June 22 - Blackstone Group LP units
rose 15 percent in their first day of trading on Friday, as the
first major U.S. private-equity firm went public and minted
billions of dollars of new wealth for its founders.




The highly anticipated issue shot up as much as 23 percent to
$38.00 in early trade on the New York Stock Exchange. But the
units then fell from the high and dipped below the opening price,
indicating some investors sold on concerns of higher U.S. taxes or
worries whether the ideal conditions of recent years would
persist.

AT&T May Gain 915,000 Wireless Subscribers From Supplying Apple's IPhone

(Bloomberg) -- AT&T Inc. may gain as many as 915,000
new customers in the second half of this year as the sole
wireless service provider of Apple Inc.'s new iPhone, according
to Bear Stearns & Co.

Shares of San Antonio-based AT&T, the largest U.S. phone
company, added 68 cents, or 1.7 percent, to $40.66 at 12:23 p.m.
in New York Stock Exchange Composite trading.
